Our annual Holiday Shop is a longstanding event that involves the entire community and provides a traditional holiday shopping experience for over 40 Homeless No More families.
The weeks after Thanksgiving, new unwrapped gifts for adults and children are collected. On the day of Holiday Shop, gifts are set up and Family Shelter, St. Lawrence Place, and Live Oak Place are invited to come “gift shop” with the help of volunteer shoppers and gift wrappers. Parents shop for their children, and children shop for their parents – truly a wonderful holiday event.
Our homeless families cherish the same Christmas memories you and I cherish. They want to make lists. They want to choose the perfect gifts for their children. They want to feel as though they have a role in their family’s holiday.
And thanks to the generosity of churches, individuals, community groups, and corporations from across the Midlands, our families will get that opportunity on December 13th.
